Fire, Hammocks and Harmony: A 3-part series
May 1, May 8, May 15
9-10:30am PST/ 12-1:30pm EST
Please join Jennifer Brilliant and Margi Young for a fresh exploration of yoga poses with imagery, poetry, meditation, and breath to illuminate our subtle and anatomical bodies. We will examine ideas from classical yoga to find how relevant they are today as tools to navigate this complex world.
Options will always be given for all levels of practitioner.
You are encouraged to join all three classes, but also welcome to join a single class. The classes are 75 minutes with the option to stay for 15 minutes to ask questions and chat all things yoga! We encourage you to take all 3 parts (if you miss one, we will send you the recording) but you are also welcome to join a single class.
May 1st:
FIRE: Moving Energy & The Sun
This class will give an overview of the philosophies in this Facets of Being series, which are the qualities of energy (the 3 Gunas) and the main energetic channels (the 3 Nadis). We will then do an active practice complete with sun salutations, backbends, and inversions. This cultivation of energy will highlight how important the sun/hot/fire aspects of our lives are, and how we can use their power.
May 8th:
HAMMOCK: Slow Down & The Moon
This will be a gentle practice with stretching, restorative poses, calming breath awareness, and yoga nidra, a guided relaxation. Listening to others, digesting our experiences, and quieting our minds are deep, rich facets which we will explore.
May 15th:
HARMONY: Balance & Luminosity
For the final class of this series, you will be invited into a balanced flow of poses to cultivate harmony. Together we will learn to move in and out of a state of contentment. Interweaving poses and principals from weeks 1 and 2 of this series, we will find skillful ways to balance on our feet, hands, and heads giving stability, mobility and a sense of lightness.
