This weeklong retreat will explore the richness of silence, stillness and flow through meditation, qigong and yoga. Most of the retreat will be held in silence. Meditations will be based on the Buddhist teachings on mindfulness. Yoga and qigong will be designed to nourish and support deeper embodiment.
In this dynamic class we will be aided by sandbags in every pose and sequence, ranging from classic yoga poses to strength building and conditioning, ending with grounding restorative.
Handstands strengthen, stretch, build confidence and offer a new perspective. They have also been likened to a double espresso!

This series, examining the winds (vayus)in the body, will explore ideas from classical yoga to find how relevant they are today as tools to navigate our daily life.
Along with the primary diaphragm that is used in respiration, the body has other diaphragms that all work in harmony. When we bring attention to these diaphragms through alignment in yoga, there can be more freedom and ease in the body and breath as well as renewed energy in your poses.
In this workshop, we will practice proven methods to activate the vagus nerve, giving your nervous system a well needed break. We will also open the rib cage to create more space for the lungs and heart, paving the way for fuller breathing and gentle but profound pranayama.
